President Lyndon Johnson’s calls from early January 1964, as he talks about problems for the U.S. in Panama,beef imports and relations with ranchers and farmers, a trip to Indonesia by Attorney General Robert Kennedy and leaks from the State Department.  Participants in these calls included Secretary of State Dean Rusk and Agriculture Secretary Orville Freeman,Senate Armed Services Committee chairman Richard Russell and National Security Adviser McGeorge Bundy.
