President Trump delivered a short statement to the nation on the Parkland, Florida, school shooting. Seventeen people were murdered and over a dozen injured. The president said he planned to visit Parkland soon and would meet with local and state officials about mental health and school safety. In his brief remarks, he spoke directly to students, saying they are never alone and never will be, and urged them to turn to family members, law enforcement, and faith leaders if they needed help and support. close
