Amnesty International held a news conference on the release of its annual global report on human rights. “Hate and divisive rhetoric” were among the largest causes for violations of human rights, according to the 2017-2018 report. The United States, Latin America, Myanmar (Burma), and Syria were some of the countries mentioned. The group also listed some of President Trump’s rhetoric on various issues, such as his administration’s attempt to ban travel from eight nations, as partially to blame for the rise in division. close
