In this portion of the American Conservative Union annual conference, Federal Communications Commission Chair Ajit Pai and FCC Commissioners Michael O’Rielly (R) and Brendan Carr (R) talked about rural broadband access, 5G mobile network technology, and their agency’s rules to block robocalls. FCC Chair Pai was presented with the “Charlton Heston Courage Under Fire Award” by the National Rifle Association for his efforts in repealing net neutrality rules. “Net neutrality” refers to Obama administration rules that regulated the internet like a public utility and prohibited internet service providers from blocking or charging websites for higher quality delivery to consumers. close
