Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah took reporters' questions, which focused mainly on gun violence. He talked about President Trump’s policy proposals that include banning “bump stocks” that essentially turn semi-automatic firearms into automatic weapons, raising the age limit to purchase certain weapons from 18 to 21, comprehensive background checks, and giving concealed guns to some trained teachers in schools. At the start of the briefing, White House Council of Economic Advisers Chair Kevin Hassett discussed the details of his annual economic report. close
