In addition to his Mount Vernon estate along the Potomac river, George Washington owned a townhouse in the heart of nearby Alexandria, Virginia. The current owner, Rick Garcia, talked about his family’s connection to the Washingtons and the archaeology of two recently-discovered wells in their basement. We also visited the Alexandria Archaeology Museum to see some of the artifacts that have been uncovered. close
