The University of Missouri Schools of Journalism and Law hosted an event in Washington, DC focusing on the First Amendment in the digital age. In the first session, attendees heard from media law experts on threats to First Amendment protections. This panel followed a discussion with reporters, many of whom cover the White House, on the challenges they encounter covering the president in an era of social media and one where the president has called several news outlets “fake news.” close
