The Heritage Foundation hosted a discussion on the 2018 Index of Economic Freedom, its annual study of economic conditions and government policies in 186 countries. Terry Miller, the director of the Heritage Foundation’s Center for International Trade and Economics, presented the study and discussed the policy challenges of advancing economic freedom and prosperity. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross also delivered remarks on the findings and some of the Trump administration’s efforts to advance economic freedom in the U.S., which ranked 18th on the survey. close
