The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security held a hearing on the president’s fiscal year 2019 budget request for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Members asked the three ICE and CPB witnesses questions on a range of issues, including border security, immigration enforcement and screening procedures at ports of entry. The witnesses discussed deportation policies as well as efforts to stem the flow of illegal drugs into the country, particularly opioids and fentanyl. close
