Chinese President Xi Jinping Address

Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered keynote remarks on the global economy and economic development in his country. He announced plans to open up the Chinese economy and said his country would “significantly lower” import tariffs for vehicles and reduce import tariffs for some other products in 2018. In addition, he pledged to strengthen protection of intellectual property rights of foreign firms. President Xi spoke at a development conference in China’s southern province of Hainan.
