The Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing on Navy combat readiness and the fiscal year 2019 budget request. Other issues discussed included recruitment and retainment issues, transgender military service, sexual misconduct and the future U.S. military role in the Middle East. Members heard from Navy Secretary Richard Spencer, Chief of Naval Operations Admiral John Richardson and Marine Corps Commandant General Robert Neller. close
