The U.N. Security Council held an emergency meeting, at Russia’s request, on the alleged chemical weapons attack in Syria that killed more than 40 people and injured hundreds more. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres briefed members, saying the situation in the Middle East was in “chaos” and a “threat to international peace and security.” He said there was “no military solution” to the Syrian conflict and urged Security Council members to determine responsibility for chemical attacks. In addition, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.
