British Prime Minister Theresa May held a news conference in London on the airstrikes in Syria. The U.S. the U.K., and France struck three sites in Syria in response to a suspected deadly chemical weapon attack in the town of Douma by Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad that left dozens dead, many of them women and children. Ms. May said the joint military action, was “both right and legal,” and sent a “clear message” that the use of chemical weapons is unacceptable. She also said that “we cannot allow the use of chemical weapons to become normalized.” She announced that she would address lawmakers in the House of Commons on the following Monday when members returned from their Easter recess. close
