State Department, Defense Department, and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) officials testified at a hearing on U.S. policy in Yemen. The witnesses updated committee members on the conflict in the region, the status of humanitarian aid efforts, and tackling the cholera outbreak in the country. On national security, the witnesses also provided an update on the presence of the militant group known as AQAP, or al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula. close
