The hearing was led by Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) who has served as the committee’s acting chair in the absence of Senator John McCain (R-AZ) who has been recovering from the side effects of cancer treatment. Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) is the committee’s ranking member.
