During the Prime Minister Theresa May’s weekly session with lawmakers, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corybn pressed her on the government’s treatment of some Caribbean immigrants who migrated to the U.K. after World War II, commonly referred to as the “Windrush” generation. Mr. Corbyn told the prime minister that thousands of legal residents who migrated to the U.K. during that time now face deportation and eviction because of a 2012 immigration law. The prime minister recently met with Caribbean Commonwealth leaders and apologized for the anxiety surrounding this crisis and British lawmakers are expected to debate a proposal granting amnesty to legal immigrants in the following week. close
