Telephone lines and social media were open to take viewer calls from Americans living in rural areas about their thoughts and concerns on the agriculture industry and international trade. The ongoing trade disputes between the United States and other countries, in particular, China, can potentially affect the livelihoods of farmers.

Roll Call's House leadership reporter Lindsey McPherson spoke by phone about the latest on Representative Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) dismissal of House chaplain Reverend Patrick Conroy. The speaker allegedly forced the chaplain to resign after the former took issue with the latter’s opening prayer, said on November 6, 2018. The prayer alluded to the new Republican-sponsored tax policy, which was being debated at the time. close
