Prime Minister Theresa May answered questions from members of her party and the opposition during her weekly question time from House of Commons members. Topics included the government’s treatment of some Caribbean immigrants who came to the U.K. after World War II, commonly referred to as the “Windrush” generation. Many of them who arrived during that time face detention and deportation because of a 2012 immigration law. Several members called on the prime minister to apologize for the crisis. The prime minister announced that new measures and a full review of the situation would be implemented before the summer recess. Also, she and members paid tribute to former House Speaker Michael Martin who died on April 29th. close
