Attorney General Jeff Sessions delivered a brief statement on the “caravan” of Central American migrants at the U.S-Mexico border. He said the Justice Department was adding 35 assistant U.S. attorneys to the Southwest border to “prosecute illegal entries” into the U.S. He also announced that the department was sending 18 immigration judges to the border to deal with asylum claims. In addition, Attorney General Sessions said, “We are not going to let this country be overwhelmed. People are not going to caravan or otherwise stampede our border.” close
