He went on to criticize the government of being “in complete disarray” over negotiations for the U.K.'s exit from the European Union, also known as “Brexit.” Prime Minister May responded by saying, “this government has a policy of leaving the customs union, and of ensuring that when we do so we have as frictionless trade as possible with the EU.” At the start, the House of Commons applauded the police officers in attendance who apprehended the killer of British Labour Party member Jo Cox in 2016.
