The Senate debated a resolution to overturn the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) repeal of the Obama administration’s net neutrality rules. Those rules regulated the internet like a public utility and prohibited internet service providers from blocking or charging websites for higher quality delivery to consumers. net neutrality rules. The FCC’s repeal of those those rules was scheduled to take effect on June 11. Senators Schumer (D-NY), Thune (R-SD), Markey (D-MA), Blumenthal (D-OR), Warren (D-MA) and Murray (D-WA) took part in the debates.
