Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) spoke on the chamber floor in favor of a resolution to overturn the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) repeal of the Obama administration’s net neutrality rules. He said repealing them would have adverse effects on the technology sector in Florida. Those rules regulated the internet like a public utility and prohibited internet service providers from blocking or charging websites for higher quality delivery to consumers.

The Senate later voted 52-47 to reinstate net neutrality. close
