As the Senate debated a resolution to keep Obama administration net neutrality rules, Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) spoke against the measure. The Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) repeal of those rules that regulate the internet like a public utility and prohibit internet service providers from blocking or charging websites for higher quality delivery to consumers was scheduled to take effect on June 11.

The Senate later voted 52-47 to reinstate net neutrality. close
