The acting U.S. Olympic Committee CEO Susanne Lyons apologized to athletes who were sexually abused and their families during a hearing before the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Since taking over in March 2018, she stressed her commitment to protect Olympic athletes and to make changes to the organization to prevent future abuses. The heads of USA Gymnastics, Swimming, Volleyball and Taekwondo also testified, as did the president and CEO of the U.S. Center for SafeSport. close
