White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders spoke to reporters on the driveway outside the West Wing. She was asked about President Trump’s announcement the previous day canceling the meeting between the president and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. She said the U.S. would be ready to hold the meeting if it can provide real results. “We’re always going to be prepared, and if the meeting takes place on June 12, we’ll be ready. If it takes place on July 12, we’ll be ready,” said the press secretary. She was also asked about the briefing the previous day with congressional leaders and Justice Department officials on the confidential FBI source during the 2016 campaign. She said that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly and White House attorney Emmet Flood went to help facilitate the meeting, but that “they didn’t participate in the meeting and they weren’t part of that process.” close
