Special Collections Senior Archivist Mary Saffell of Texas Christian University shared items from the “In Their Shoes Exhibit” that tell the story of journalist and author Grace Halsell. She is known for her in-depth research for her most famous work, Soul Sister, in which she changed the color of her skin to experience life as a black woman in the 1960s.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in Fort Worth, Texas, from April 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
