The Wilson Center’s Mexico Institute and the Migration Policy Institute co-hosted an event about the evolving relationship between the United States and Mexico. Current and former officials from both the U.S. and Mexico discussed the recent history of the two neighboring countries, the impact of NAFTA over the years, and what they described as the need to consider and understand more of the positive, productive aspects of the relationship instead of more often focusing on the negative stories. Among the speakers was former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Roberta Jacobson, who provided closing remarks and made recommendations for enhancing future relations between the two countries. close
