During his weekly news conference, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) was asked whether he stood by Republican lawmakers' demands for documents from the Justice Department related to its investigations of Russia’s interference in the 2016 campaign. The speaker argued that it is the responsibility of Congress to conduct oversight of the executive branch. He also added, “...there’s been no evidence that there’s any collusion between the Trump campaign and President Trump and Russia.” Mr. Ryan also answered several questions about disagreements within the House Republican conference about how to deal with participants of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and border security issues. close
