British Prime Minister Theresa May answered questions from members of her coalition and the opposition. Topics included the U.K.'s trade relationship with the U.S. and the ongoing negotiations for Britain to leave the European Union, also known as “Brexit.” The proceedings were interrupted by a call for an immediate vote to take the chamber into a private session by Scottish National Party (SNP) Leader Ian Blackford. After the call for a vote was rejected by House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, the leader objected and was subsequently thrown out of Parliament for the remainder of the day. His fellow party members followed him out of the chamber in protest. Following the resumption and conclusion of Question Time, Speaker Bercow heard a number of points of order regarding the Scottish member’s temporary ouster. close
