Education advocates and scholars testified about charter schools at a House Education and Workforce Committee hearing. Members listened to testimony identifying some of the advantages and challenges of charter schools. Questions focused on the added value of charter schools, best practices for teachers and parental involvement, concerns over access for “DREAMers” and low-income students, and the rise of online charter school programs. “DREAMers” refers to undocumented migrants who arrived in the U.S. as children. close
