Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was once the longest-serving Republican member of the U.S. Congress. Senator Stevens served from 1968-2009. Karina Waller, executive director of the Ted Stevens Foundation, highlighted the Senator’s career through the congressional papers collected from over nearly 40 years of service.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made stops in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in Juneau, Fairbanks, and Anchorage, Alaska, from June 17-28, to feature the history and literary life of the communities. Working with the GCI cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
