Vice President Pence addressed employees of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at the agency’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. He reassured them that they have the full support of the Trump administration despite calls by some to abolish the agency following its role in deportation operations. He criticized remarks to close ICE as “outrageous” and “irresponsible” citing Democratic Party members including Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The vice president was introduced by Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. close
