The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee held a confirmation hearing for Kathleen Kraninger and Kimberly Reed, President Trump’s nominees to lead, reprectively the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and the Export-Import Bank. Many members asked Ms. Kraninger about her responsibilities within the White House Office of Management and Budget. They focused in particular on her involvement in administration policy on Puerto Rico recovery resources following the devastation from Hurricane Maria, as well as what her role was in developing and implementing the Trump administration’s immigration and family separation policy at the U.S.-Mexico border. close
