Lance Fritz was the featured speaker at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon on trade, technology, and the economy. The Union Pacific Railroad chair, president and CEO talked about free trade, NAFTA, and the Trump administration’s recent escalation of tariffs. He said the tariffs, particularly on Canada, Mexico and China, would hurt the American economy through job losses and rising prices. He also discussed how the railroad industry was employing such new technologies as automation and scanners to improve its operations and increase efficiency. close
