Former Defense Secretary and CIA Director Leon Panetta and former Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte were among the speakers at a Washington Post discussion on the future of global democracies. Two panels of foreign policy experts talked about the current state of democracies around the world and threats to their survival. Afterward, Mr. Panetta was interviewed on a variety of foreign affairs topics by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius. Many of the participants also talked about the 2018 meeting of NATO leaders in Brussels, which was underway during this event. close
