Telephone lines and social media were open for comments on the question, “Should Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) be abolished?” Several members of the House of Representatives sponsored a bill that would terminate ICE and transfer its functions to other agencies. ICE was created in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Roll Call’s Lindsey McPherson spoke by phone about the motivation behind to movement to abolish ICE.
