Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland talked to reporters outside the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC, amid negotiations for a revised NAFTA trade agreement with the U.S. and Mexico. She said she and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer had worked through the previous evening to strike a deal following President Trump’s announcement of a bilateral deal with Mexico. Ms. Freeland said she wanted to continue negotiations to update NAFTA, which had been in effect between the U.S., Canada and Mexico since 1994. close
