New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D), New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D), and other state officials attended a remembrance ceremony to mark the 17th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center. The ceremony began just before 8:46am, when the first plane hit one of the towers. All of the victims' names were read aloud by their families and friends. Moments of silence were held for when each of the hijacked planes crashed. close
