President Trump met in the Oval Office with Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and FEMA Administrator Brock Long on emergency preparations for Hurricane Florence. Administrator Long said that the hurricane had the potential to be a “very devastating storm” and could cause storm surge, flooding and widespread power outages. In response to a question about the lessons that were learned from the 2017 hurricane response in Puerto Rico, President Trump said, “I think that Puerto Rico was an incredible unsung success.” close
