Officials with the Justice Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee regarding the detention of families at the U.S.-Mexico border. Senators asked several questions about the Trump administration’s proposed rule allowing migrant children and their families to be detained for longer time periods.
