British Prime Minister Theresa May delivered the closing keynote at the Conservative Party’s annual conference in Birmingham, England. She focused her speech on what she said the party’s achievements over the previous year, including removing caps on a housing assistance program to speed construction of new homes in the U.K.'s most crowded cities, and a boost in funding to the National Health Service. She also called for party unity as Britain prepared to exit the European Union. While Prime Minister May said she would prefer to have a free trade agreement with the European Union in place before the U.K.'s exit from the union was complete, she said she stood ready to exit without one as well. close
