British Prime Minister Theresa May fielded questions from members of the House of Commons on domestic and international issues. After detailing her upcoming schedule, she answered questions on a variety of topics including the state of Northern Ireland’s border after the United Kingdom exits the European Union. She also discussed the government’s efforts in lowering unemployment and improving the National Health Service. The prime minister addressed an independent report by former high court judge Laura Cox on sexual harassment and bullying of House of Commons staff. Later that day, Ms. May was scheduled to travel to Brussels to speak to European Union leaders about the U.K.'s exit from the EU, also known as “brexit.” close
