Ellen Stofan, the first female director of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, spoke at a National Press Club luncheon. She talked about seven-year museum renovation project, the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions, commercial space exploration, and a future human mission to Mars. She also discussed the importance of having more females in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and science-related jobs. Ms. Stofan served as a NASA chief scientist during the Obama administration. close
