In the Oval Office, President Trump signed America’s Water Infrastructure Act of 2018, which authorized $6.1 billion for 12 new water projects for construction by the Army Corps of Engineers. After the bill signing, the president was asked about the death of Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi and the Saudi government’s ongoing explanation for what happened. He said, “They had a very bad original concept. It was carried out poorly, and the cover-up was one of the worst in the history of cover-ups.” The president was also pressed about his prior claim that “Middle Easterners” had infiltrated the migrant caravan making its way to the southern border. “There’s no proof of anything, but they could very well be,” conceded the president. close
