In 1962, President Kennedy authorized the creation of the Department of the Army Special Photographic Office to film and photograph the Vietnam War for the Pentagon and the U.S. Congress. Five Vietnam War Veterans who served in the special photographic office appeared at the National Archives to share images and films while they discussed their combat experiences in documenting the war. close
