About 64 percent of the population of Memphis is African American, yet author Sharon Stanley argued that Memphis, like much of the country, has failed to fully integrate minority populations. In her book, An Impossible Dream? Racial Integration in the United States, Ms. Stanley examines integration throughout the country and explained if a fully integrated population is possible.
