Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale delivered remarks at a policy conference hosted by the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC. He outlined the Trump administration’s policy toward Iran, U.S.-Saudi Arabia relations, and the conflicts in Syria and Yemen. He also provided an assessment on Russian and Chinese influence in the Middle East. Mr. Hale previously served as the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, Lebanon and Jordan.

Also, former government officials, diplomats and Middle East scholars discussed the conflict in Yemen, U.S. policy toward Iran and relations with Saudi Arabia. Among the speakers were former U.N.
