Senators Coons (D-DE), Booker (D-NJ) and Flake (R-AZ) tried to bring up a bipartisan bill to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller, but Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) objected. Earlier in the month, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) also blocked the bill when Senator Flake tried to bring the measure up for a vote.

Members also voted 51-50 to limit debate on Stephen Farr’s nomination to be a U.S. district judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Vice President Pence broke the tie after Senator Flake was the only one of 51 Republican senators to vote against Mr. Farr.

Senators vote 63-37 on a motion to discharge a joint resolution from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee directing the removal of U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities in Yemen not been authorized by Congress. close
