The George Brown papers document the life and career of U.S. Representative George E. Brown Jr. Mr. Brown represented the Inland Empire area of southern California in Congress for nearly 30 years and was considered a champion of science research, alternative energy, space exploration, environmental issues and human rights. Jessica Geiser, collections management librarian at the University of California Riverside, showed items from the collection.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in Riverside, California, from October 10-17, 2018, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
