The Senate passed resolutions allowing the late President George H.W. Bush to lie in state in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda, and another allowing the late president’s casket to sit on top of the stand first used to hold President Abraham’s Lincoln’s casket, the Lincoln catafalque.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) paid tribute to the former president, who died November 30 at age 94. close
